The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been officially informed of the passing of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo, popularly known as Kantanka, proprietor of Kantanka Automobile and Kristo Asafo Church.
The official news was conveyed in the Manhyia Palace on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Apostle Safo passed on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
The Manhyia Palace delegation was led by Nana Osei Fosu Adutwum, Kwasohene, and included former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, as well as her siblings and siblings, Ohemaa Ama Safowaa and Nana Ama Safo Nyankonton.
In his remarks, the Asantehene urged the family to be cautious to perform funeral rites with dignity and in the traditional way to honor the late Apostle's legacy.
"Go as custom directs so that there will not be any communication gap. Whatever you want to do should be in accordance with tradition," Otumfuo advised, assuring the family his total support.
He also directed the family to provide him with details of funeral rites at his office in line with traditional procedure.
The family has not made public dates for the one-week mourning and the ultimate funeral rites.
