The ‘Thank You’ tour is aimed at reconnecting with the grassroots – Asiedu Nketia

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has justified his recent thank-you tour.

He says the tour is to enable him, as the party chairman, to reconnect the party with the grassroots while governance continues.

Ghanaians across the nation are celebrating us for this victory; you deserve the real credit," he said in a meeting with branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former party officials, cadres, and Assembly members in the Asuogyaman Constituency on Wednesday, September 17, as part of a three-day "Thank You Tour" following the NDC election victory.

Mr Asiedu Nketia called for calmness in all NDC members, assuring them that the Mahama administration will give a chance to everyone.

To address anxiety from members who have not been appointed into government positions, the NDC Chairman appealed for patience, ensuring leadership is doing its best to offer all dedicated members an opportunity to serve.

Mr Asiedu Nketia also warned against infighting, citing the example of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to be emulated."If we do what we like with the seats that we've won, our party will break up like the NPP's. But I know that will never materialize," he declared.

He continued: "What NPP is doing now is a race to hell. Flagbearer aspirants are blaming each other and are counting each other's faults and shortcomings."
