A 51-year-old Leslie Nkansa Osei-Bonsu has been elected by the Asante Mampong queen mother to occupy the seat of Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, who died in April this year.
A ritual ceremony was on Monday performed at the Asante Mampong chief's palace to confirm his appointment pending Asantehene's approval.
Leslie Nkansa Osei-Bonsu is Asante Mampong royal and the brother to the current queen mother, Nana Agyakomaa Difie II.
Nkansa Osei-Bonsu was born on the 14th of March, 1974, in Kumasi.
He grew up in Kumasi where he started his education at the City of Kumasi Preparatory School, where he wrote the common entrance examination.
He moved to Premier College to further pursue his ordinary level education.
He was a prefect in school in his time.
He has Bachelor of Science (Hons) Geometric Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He also has Master of Science Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (Distinction) from the University of Twente, Netherlands.
He is an experienced software architect and geospatial systems strategist with over two decades of experience.
He is deeply rooted in the Botaase Royal Family of Asante Mampong.
