Akosua Serwaa has already shattered marriage with late Daddy Lumba – Lawyers of Fosu Royal Family

Fosuh family lawyers to the late highlife legend have responded to complaints by first wife of late singer, Akosua Serwah Fosuh in connection to funeral rites of the late highlife legend.

A letter dated October 1, 2025, and signed by Baba Jamal & Associates' Fati Ali-Yallah and circulating on social media, the lawyers made known that they were mandated by the Fosu Royal Family to clear some statements by first wife, Akosuah Serwaa Fosuh.

The statement quoted that Mrs. Serwaa Fosuh "has no right to dictate how the Fosu Royal family coffins their deceased" since they believe that once a person dies, the body and funeral arrangement of the person belong to the family.

"Your client's name (Serwaa Fosuh), if even mentioned in the funeral brochure, will be out of courtesy by the family because of the children she has with him," the lawyers noted.

The letter indicated that Akosua Serwah Fosuh, rejected the chance to relocate to Ghana with Daddy Lumba when the latter fell seriously ill about 15 years ago.

"According to our instructions, it is that, your client, Akusua Serwah Fosuh in Germany refused to relocate with her then husband Daddy Lumba to Ghana for medical care when the latter fell seriously ill some 15 years ago and consequently left him in his moment of need."

The lawyers bluntly stated that the second wife, Priscilla Ofori alias Odo Broni was the only wife who "lived with him (Daddy Lumba) during times of hardship and victory" when he was sick.

As pointed out by the lawyers, they have the directive of the Fosu Royal Family to state that "Odo Broni is a known wife of the deceased Daddy Lumba and same is known to the Fosu Royal family."

"Our client teaches us that, Priscilla Ofori (a.k.a. Odo Broni) was the wife of the late Daddy Lumba and the woman who lived with him in poverty and in affluence and who were blessed with six (6) children for over fifteen (15) years they lived together until his day of death on earth. Let it be enough to say that, when your client left the late Daddy Lumba, Odo Broni remained with him," the letter added.

The Fosu Royal Family further added that on 4th February 2018, Akosua Serwaa sent a letter to the late Daddy Lumba explaining her intention to sue him for divorce and made "several unsubstantiated allegations which were rejected by the late Daddy Lumba."

But Daddy Lumba instructed his then lawyers to react in a February 27, 2018 letter and called out Akosua Serwaa Fosuh to proceed with her threat to divorce him.

The Fosu Family further accuses Akosua Serwaa of already presenting traditional drinks to the late Daddy Lumba's family to celebrate the end of the union.

They point out that late Daddy Lumba also agreed to divorce the marriage when presented with traditional beverages.

"By the custom of the Akans in general and Fosu Royal family in particular, which we have no doubt you are familiar with, the presentation of drinks by a wife to the husband's family when accepted in fact terminates the marriage between the two," the letter further stated.

In an attempt to calm fears about how the late artist's assets would be shared, the lawyers stated that all his assets are in his estate which the family, the late Daddy Lumba's children, and their mothers will work together to equitably share among all who are due to benefit.

They urged all interested parties to hold back from encroaching on the assets until a legal process and equitable process is achieved.

"Until then, let everybody stop using the properties until it is addressed legally and in accordance. We therefore encourage your client to stop and obey the instructions of the Fosu Royal family towards a peaceful and appropriate funeral for their late royal."

The statement also said that the law firm does have some instructions from Daddy Lumba before he passed on, which will guide the family of his desire on funeral rites and handling his estate.

" As the last attorneys of the late Daddy Lumba at the time of his demise, we are in possession of some instructions left with us by the late Daddy Lumba which is a directive to the family on how he desires his funeral and burial to be organized as well as how his property is to be distributed."

The Fosu Royal Family, through their lawyers, urged calm and called on all stakeholders, including Akosua Serwah Fosuh, to sit and negotiate in order to avoid a deserving and dignified burial for the late music icon.
