Bawumia to start nationwide campaign tour on Wednesday

Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will kickstart his nationwide campaign tour on Wednesday, October 15, to contest as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate again for the 2028 general elections.

The 2024 NPP presidential candidate will tour all 276 constituencies to meet the grassroots and delegates to win their votes again.

The Bawumia campaign team, in a statement, said that this campaign approach "highlights his commitment to listening, consensus-making, and the development of the Party's base at the grassroots level."

The campaign decried the new phenomenon whereby discussion has "collapsed into personal attacks, unfounded vilifications, and the denigration of individuals," and refers to such conduct as being contrary to the NPP culture and values.

Dr Bawumia's camp was hopeful that when the debate is about substance, his "qualifications, experience, and visionary ideas will resonate resoundingly with the delegates."

The NPP goes to the polls on January 31 to select a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections
