Movement for Change is to unveil its official and new political party on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
The unveiling will be conducted at the Coconut Grove Hotel in Accra and to bring together various political leaders across the country.
Talking about the vision of the new party that hasn't yet been stated, a Movement for Change Communications team Solomon Owusu said: "the New Party is a centrist national broad-based party which envisions an united Ghana with the vision to unlock the potential of all Ghanaians for economic transformation."
On all of the Movement for Change social media platforms, the organisation is gearing up for the launch of the party, calling on Ghanaians to anticipate a "New Party that believes in Ghana first."
The Movement for Change is led by Alan Kyerematen, a former Minister of Trade and Industry.
Alan Kyerematen founded the Movement for Change when he defected from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in September 2023 to run in the 2024 general election as an independent candidate.
The Movement for Change and other parties participated in the 2024 general election and sought to put an end to Ghana's duopolistic political culture, which has been dominated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The actual symbol of the Movement is the monarch butterfly, and Afrafranto in Akan. The monarch butterfly means political change, hope, and transformation.
The slogan: "Ghana Will Rise Again," inspires hope for the future of the nation.
The Movement's agenda is drawn from its "Great Transformational Plan" (GTP), which will change everything about Ghana's political and economic fate.
