Funeral rites for late Asantehemaa get underway in Kumasi




But on Thursday, September 18,2025, public viewing of the body will be shut down at 11 a.m. to pave the way for burial service.

The 'Dote Yie' started well last night with performances by traditional priests and priestesses serving in Asanteman until this morning when public viewing was opened.


There has been adequate security, procedure, and medical order to provide for security, safety, emergency healthcare needs, and order to ensure the interest of all.


Traffic in terms of automobiles to and from the Manhyia Palace has been rigorously restricted, with buses and other forms of transport arranged to convey mourners from points of reference within Manhyia Palace area to avert clogging.


On the final day, Thursday, September 18, the President and nominees, former Presidents, ex-Vice President, Chief Justice and members of the judiciary, Speaker and MPs, among other vital state leaders, will take turns as the stakeholders pay respect to Otumfuo Osei Tutu, who will sit in state.
