ORAL is on course; we’re not yielding – Asiedu Nketia

Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said government is still on course with the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) agenda, insisting that stolen monies by former public officials will be recovered and put to good use.

His comment comes in the wake of a past Auditor-General and Operations Recover All Loots (ORAL) team member, Daniel Yao Domelevo bemoaning the lack of prosecution of former public officials who have been accused of corruption.

On The KSM Show interview, posted on YouTube on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Mr. Domelevo decried that nine months into President John Dramani Mahama's leadership, not a single former official from the last government had been prosecuted despite the ORAL team's dogged efforts to crack down on suspected corruption cases.

I am not pleased at all. That's because I don't even see the tunnel, much less talk about the light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, the perpetrator lawyers' prayer is that there be a change of government, and then the new administration will charge the nolle prosequi, and our money is gone,\" he said.

"The approach that the new Attorney-General is taking is going to be toughest. Nine months is not a sufficient period of time. Before we know it, we would have served out President Mahama's term. So, I think we need to change the pace at which we are moving," he continued.

But speaking to chiefs and party individuals on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Asiedu Nketia has assured Ghanaians that the government is not pulling the brakes on ORAL cases.

"Now another tough promise which we are struggling to fulfill and that is the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL). Everyone knows how much the NPP government in 8 years has plundered from the national kitty.".

"And we have promised to recover all the monies that have been defalcated, we are not surrendering and attempts have started in earnest to ensure that these monies are recovered and they are put to good use," he stated.
